The Lynchburg Museum is located in the Old Court House in downtown Lynchburg. The Courthouse, built in 1855, over-looks James River and is Hill city's most famous landmark. It contains rare artifacts and old photographs detailing Lynchburg's past. Each year the museum adds more to their permanent collection and cycles the changing exhibits.
Considered one of central Virginia's most incredibly architectural sights, Point of Honor is the former home of Dr. George Cabell, Sr., friend of Patrick Henry. The house was built in 1815 and over-looks the James River. The sight has been completely restored to its original beauty and is open daily for guided tours.
