Sailor's Creek Battlefield State Park islocated near Farmville, VA. There are no overnight facilities here, however group camping can be arranged by calling the park office in advance. Interpretive programs run throughout the year and commemorate the Civil War battle that took place here.

Twin Lakes State Park can be found near Farmville and about an hour by car from Richmond, VA. Camping facilities are provided and there are cabins available to rent. Fishing and boating are popular activities at this park, and swimming at the beach is permitted from Memorial Day to Labour Day.
